Due to the fact there have not been any competition since 2019, we would like to make this event as successful as possible. Therefore this year’s competition will be considered an “open competition”. ALL TEAMS ARE WELCOME.

Each team will participate in two challenge pits, Limited & Unlimited pits. The defining factor between the pits is the availability of rescue tools. The Limited Pit presents only hand and pneumatic tools, and the Unlimited Pit, makes available all rescue tools, including heavy hydraulic rescue equipment. The teams have 20 minutes to safely extricate an entrapped a live patient from a simulated vehicle collision. The point scoring is primarily based on the command structure, hazard and scene control, patient and rescuer safety and the techniques used to disentangle the patient.

On June 5th, a series of classes will be given in Advanced lifting underride incidents, extrication challenge team development, and possibly more depending on instructor
availability. These classes will be open to any member of a competing team member or those who register as an individual for the training symposium only (information about this event is posted on the schedule pages). Please notify me ASAP, as arrangements must be made months in advance. Space is limited.
